About Make Sense of ADHD

Helping Adults Feel Understood, Supported, and Equipped with their ADHD Diagnosis

At Make Sense of ADHD, we help adults finally understand why things have felt harder than they should—and what to do about it. Whether you were recently diagnosed, suspect you may be living with ADHD, or have known for years but never found the right support, you deserve a space where you feel understood, empowered, and capable.

ADHD isn’t a character flaw or a lack of willpower. It’s a unique way the brain works—and with the right tools, strategies, and community, you can thrive.

We’re here to help you make sense of it all.

Who We Are Here For

We support adults of all ages—from early career to retirement—who:

  • Feel overwhelmed, scattered, or constantly “behind”

  • Struggle with follow-through, time management, or organization

  • Carry shame or frustration about years of feeling “different” or “not enough”

  • Want to better understand themselves and build systems that actually work with their brain

  • Are ready for compassionate, practical support rooted in lived experience and evidence-based tools

Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, seeking structure in daily life, or wanting to build confidence and emotional resilience, you’re in the right place.

Meet Lori Ritchie

Founder, Coach, and Lifelong Learner

For most of her life, Lori Ritchie carried a heavy, private shame. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t seem to finish what she started or achieve the things she deeply wanted. She watched others “catch on” and move forward while she struggled daily—confused, frustrated, and convinced something was wrong with her.

She hid her mistakes, masked her overwhelm, and pushed herself to exhaustion because she didn’t understand why even simple tasks felt impossible.

Everything changed when Lori was diagnosed with ADHD in her late 50s.

The news brought a flood of emotions—relief, shock, grief, and anger for all the years she went unsupported. But it also brought clarity. Her lifelong challenges suddenly made sense, and she began rebuilding her life from a place of knowledge, compassion, and possibility.

Today, Lori is the passionate, heart-centered founder and head coach of Make Sense of ADHD.

She believes deeply that:

“We are different, not defective.”

Her mission is to reduce the stigma, shame, and isolation that so many adults with ADHD carry—especially those diagnosed later in life. Lori’s work is rooted in empathy, research, and personal understanding. She helps clients feel seen, supported, and capable of creating meaningful change at any age.

Because it’s never too late to rewrite your story.
It’s never too late to feel proud of who you are.
And it’s never too late to make a dream (or two) come true.

Joining Lori’s initial community was my second step into joining ADHD groups for adults and now I’ve been a member of her groups for 7 years.  Lori facilitates group meetings ensuring each member leaves learning a new skill for ADHD while connecting to group members through conversation, art, outside activities, and online sessions. Being a member of the group makes me feel connected to a larger community, one that understands me. Lori provides support in learning how to work with ADHD in everyday life, while exploring the past and with a new lens on how we view our past for late diagnosed adults.
